A PRAYER

Lord, these are terrible things I have just read.

No man can be expected to accept them easily.

They move me. They touch me deeply.

For I have my sufferings, and one day I shall die.

Can it be that Christ, Your son really offers a new life?

Could this life replace in me my selfish self?

Lord, I cannot see myself.

You must give me Your light.
